Join the Opal community as a mentor and connect with students and early-career professionals who are looking for exactly the kind of guidance you have to offer.
You don't need a fancy title
Seriously. If you've started your career and you're comfortable sharing what you've learned, you're a mentor. We believe the best mentors aren't always the most senior people in the room — they're the ones who genuinely care about helping someone else grow.
We're looking for professionals who:
Have at least 1–2 years of experience in their field
Want to give back to the next generation of talent
Are open to connecting with someone from an underrepresented background
What being a mentor looks like
Monthly matching
Every month, we'll check in and ask if you'd like to be matched. Say yes, and we'll pair you with a mentee whose goals align with what you bring. You'll spend the month helping them work toward one goal — we provide the structure, prompts, and check-ins so you never have to figure out what to do next.
Spark Sessions and GEM Programs
When Opal hosts our own Spark Sessions or GEM Programs, we invite mentors from our community first. These are a great way to show up for someone in a more structured way — whether that's a single live matching event or a 1–12 month program.
Note: when we partner with companies on their programs, they typically provide their own mentors. Community mentor invitations are for Opal-hosted programs specifically.
