Program Details

The Math & CS Club at Santa Clara University was familiar with mentorship programs. By the time they reached out to our team, they had already hosted a mentorship program of 40 members the previous quarter.

Though they found success in the logistics of the program, they noticed that not every member had productive career-related conversations because it wasn’t the best mentor/mentee fit.

We instruct our mentors to meet with their mentees before class registration begins and to focus on academic advising. We would like these meetings to involve more career and field related discussions, however that is difficult when not every pairing is a perfect fit.

Our Opal team worked with the Santa Clara University Math & CS Club undergraduate students to ensure that their existing mentorship program could flourish through the most accurate matching possible.

The combined belief was that with accurate matching related to career goals, the members of the club could have more productive conversations around career, professional development, and the job search.
